Thank you so much for your interest in sponsoring this year's 2023 Yellow Candle Project. The BZD is delighted to once again be able to bring this timely project to the Baltimore community and we are now more than ever committed to handing out as many candles to as many children, and families in our community as possible, free of charge. This year we again plan to bring in 1,000 candles so that we can reach families and teens in schools, JCC’s, youth organizations, and churches – And we would love the support of our local businesses, to help with the cost of this meaningful project.
What is a Yellow Candle?
A simple, practical tool for the Jewish community and beyond, to remember Jewish victims of the Holocaust on the occasion of Yom HaShoah
Every candle comes with a small card that carries the name of someone who perished; many of the names are of children
A unique educational opportunity which brings learning about the Holocaust directly into the home of the participants
A powerful social media campaign driven by influencer support which encourages photos of the lit candles to be posted by individuals with the hashtag #yellowcandle on Yom HaShoah to help raise awareness
